At last! Global Rallycross has released its 2014 event calendar:

  • May 17-18 – Barbados (Top Gear Festival)
  • June 7 – Austin, TX (X Games)
  • June 21-22 – Washington DC
  • July 19-20 – New York, NY
  • July 25-26 – Charlotte, NC
  • August 2-3 – Detroit, MI
  • August 22-23 – Daytona, FL
  • September 19-20 – Los Angeles, CA

Red Bull Global Rallycross has also upped the ante for the drivers this year. A $500,000 payout is available for the season, which means the winner of each race wins up to $20,000. That should boost the competition!

Among the drivers expected to return to GRC this year are former champion Tanner Foust, Ken Block, Patrik Sandell, Sverre Isachsen, and Steve Arpin. We are also excited to see the debut of Danny Way and the return of Andi Mancin.

Check out our GRC Drivers profiles for the most up-to-date information.

It was announced at the end of last season that Red Bull has become the title sponsor for Global Rallycross. Red Bull is known for its promotion of extreme sports, which is a perfect match for the exciting sport of rallycross. Fans will continue to be treated to the fastest-growing motorsport in the world combined with Red Bull’s expertise in high-octane entertainment.

Royal Purple and GoPro will continue to be main sponsors of the series as well.

The X Games event this summer, the only X Games Global Rallycross is partnered with this year, will see the one-time return of former Global Rallycross drivers like current champ Toomas “Topi” Heikkinen and his new teammate Anton Marklund. Also returning is Travis Pastrana, who’s competing in Rally America with Subaru this year.

GRC Lites, the development class in Global Rallycross, is scheduled to release its schedule later this month. It’s believed that more cars will be added to the class, though drivers have not yet been announced.
