EKS Team: “The Final Is On The Spot”
Watch out Petter Solberg, the EKS Team is out for revenge. Last season, we watched as Solberg beat Ekström by a mere 0.005 seconds at Estering. This season Ekström is determined to win this round. “In 2013 I made my debut in a SuperCar and the 2014 final is also on the spot. I’ve never had such a close race in my entire career, but this year we go for the big trophy, said Ekström.
Other than the allure of getting revenge at this particular track, Ekström also has fond ties to Estering. Regarding Estering, there are a lot of memories. I visited the track for the first time in 1990. My father Bengt won that round in the European Championship. For me its a special one,” said Ekström.
After a four week break between the last round at Lydden Hill and this weekend’s round in Germany, Anton Marklund is rested and ready for the EKS revenge. “Estering is a spectacular track and I really like it, even though my results haven’t been so amazing so far. I had a very promising two-day test with the Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro in Höljes and now I’m aiming for my first podium in Buxtehude,” said Marklund.
Join EKS for Midsommar
On Friday night before race action starts Midsommar festivities will take place. Midsommar is the second most celebrated event, after Christmas, in the Scandinavian countries.

They will stage the inaugural EKS Midsommar Olympics. Team Scandinavia and Team Rest of the World will battle for the crown with egg-in-spoon running, boot throwing and tug-of-war.
